or, two videos from the Packers Week 18 game

I’m kind of going in fits-and-starts this week, but I wanted to throw something out there today. So here you are! Two videos today, and both with my voice sounding somewhat normal. Who would have thought?

Play 1

The Packers love getting Davante Adams isolated on one side of the field and having him beat the man across from him. It’s a solid strategy that has served the Packers well, due in no small part to Aaron Rodgers’ quick delivery & good decision-making and Davante Adams’ release off the line.

On this play, we walk through an instance from this past week where it didn’t work out, how that can mess with the success of the play and how this could rear its head in the playoffs.

As soon as this happened, I knew I’d be talking about it until someone told me to shut up. And guess what! No one has yet! I wrote about this over at Cheesehead TV, but I wanted to talk through it as well, because apparently I love overkill.

The play is Leak. It’s a counter to PA Boot, and it’s something I’ve been waiting for Matt LaFleur to run since he became head coach. They finally broke it out in a meaningless Week 18 game, but the floodgates are open now. Playoff Leak here we come!
