I tend to wait until I get my hands on that sweet, sweet all 22 before I do breakdowns, but this first play was just too pretty to wait. The Packers ran Mesh in the red zone, and the result was a touchdown to Aaron Jones, who had leaked out into the flat then wheeled up into the end zone. The replay showed a wide angle, so I figured it was good enough to use.
As I was looking at it, I realized it was very familiar to a touchdown against the Lions in Week 2. As it turns out, it’s basically the exact same play. Jones stays in the flat against the Lions, but that’s because Jamie Collins gets bumped off and he’s open immediately. In Week 15, Jones releases to the flat, then leaks upfield to create more space between himself and the defender.
I also did a little something on the MVS touchdown, which came off an extremely familiar concept.
