Yesterday we looked at 8 plays from this past weekend. Tonight? Man, we’re looking at 5 more. Because there is something wrong with me and I can’t stop.
Play 1
We’re going to kick things off by looking at a ball that Savage almost picked off. Vikings trot out a Portland concept. Cousins turns his head on the playfake, the coverage spins and a post safety appears out of the ether.
Play 2
A concept very familiar to us: Slant/Flat. With a twist! The Packers run double slants, but the outside slant is run by Deguara, and he breaks off a really nice Sluggo route.
Play 3
Looking at an instance of the China concept, with Rodgers showing some faith in EQ on the backside slant.
Play 4
Packers running Spot/Snag with a backside slant, and watching as Rodgers progresses through his options before quickly hitting the checkdown.
Play 5
Just a look at Spider Garvin setting a nice edge and Tyler Lancaster peeling off to make a stop. Run defense! Everyone gets excited about run defense.
