Hello! After nearly writing myself to death over the weekend, we’re settling into something a little more natural: my big stupid voice talking over football clips. We’ve got 4 clips today, and they’re all pretty fun.
Play 1
Spot/Snag is a popular red zone concept. We walk through an instance of the Packers running it against the Bears and talk about the idea of a high-low read.
Play 2
PA Boot is a concept we’ve covered here ad nauseam, but it’s for a good reason: it’s one of the core concepts in this system. But more than that, as teams have adjusted how they defend it, the Packers have started varying how they run it. Against the Bears, there were a couple wrinkles I really dug.
Play 3
My favorite play of the week and possibly the season. Aaron Jones scored a TD off what I thought was RB Leak. According to Aaron Rodgers, that part of the play wasn’t scripted, it just happened to work out. However it came to be, it’s a really fun play.
Play 4
We’ll close out with a short one: Allen Lazard is primarily known for what he’s able to offer as a blocker in the run game. That can fool a team when they’re looking for a run that turns into a pass.
Hope to have some stuff on the defensive side of the ball in the next day or so, but no promises!
