I’m getting ready to take a breath, crack a pumpkin beer and watch something spooky. Before I do that, I wanted to take a look back at all the football stuff I put together over the past week. It was a busy week, but I’m mostly happy with how it went. Mostly.
Let’s start with the videos.
I kicked things off with a look at the longest play of the game: the Rodgers-to-Watkins bomb, while Eddie Jackson just kinda vibed in the middle.
In non-Packers coverage, I took a look at my 8 favorite red zone concepts I saw around the league in week 2. Some really fun stuff this week. It’s becoming my favorite thing to do every week, because it gives me a chance to see all the creative stuff going on around the league.
I dug into an RPO from the Packers that went for a touchdown that worked as a beautiful counter to one of their most popular RPO tags.
In this space, I dug into the Packers RPO game in week 2, and put together a video on two of my favorite looks from the week.
Lastly on the video front, I spent 30 minutes walking through all 11 snaps from the Packers 2RB Pony Package in week 2. The numbers were disappointing, but I thought they showed some promising things. It’s certainly something I’m going to be monitoring throughout the season.
But wait! There’s more!
For Packer Report, I wrote two articles. The first one took a look at Jaire Alexander’s 4th quarter INT.
The second one looked at The Pony Sweep: a play out of the aforementioned Pony Package that featured AJ Dillon as a lead blocker and Sammy Watkins with a nice block on the playside.
Lastly, for Cheesehead TV, I took a look at 3 plays: two instances of the Packers hitting Sammy Watkins on the Strike concept, and a big 3rd down completion to Randall Cobb on an angle route.
By my count, I believe that’s 5 videos and 4 articles. Is that a lot? That seems like a lot.
Hope you all learned something in all of this. I know I did. Big thank you to anyone who read or listened to a single word of it. I don’t know why you do it, but I’m thankful that you do.
